NEW YORK!!!!!

First things first...a New York Hot dog!

We had such a wonderful Thanksgiving...Sam's mom and dad flew in from California, we ate the bird, then ditched them to go to New York and play!!! They were so wonderful to babysit while Sam and I had our first vacation without kids! What a blast!!! We stayed with Ryan and Katrina who live literally in the best New York location you could pick! We were just blocks from everything that matters :) ie; time square, central park, broadway, rockafeller center etc. It was the best vacation ever!!!!

We spent lots of time in Central park!!! It's the first colored leaves we've seen in a while!

Girl's getting ready for 2010!!! We loved bartering prices on Canal street and Little Italy

Yes, that's right, we saw Catherine-Zeta-Jones...Sam even jumped on her car!!! :)

Among the favorties that we ate was New York Pizza!!!! We ate the best food...I'm now on a raw spinach diet to detox the body, but while we vacationed, we filled our bellies well with Garlic knots, lamb gyros, pizza, hot chocolate, H &H bagels, and hot dogs...times that by multiple servings per day and you have our entire menu! Yum, sooo good.

Just a couple of wanna-be- New Yorkers, kickin it...we would have blended in but we took pictures every 10 steps! So much to see!

A nice run through central park!..ok so it was a run/walk because we stopped for so many photos!

Among the many things we did, we went to a taping of "Live with Regis and Kelly"...sam was not so excited at first, but in the end really enjoyed it...especially because at the very end of the taping when they are saying good-bye, Regis and Kelly are standing in the audience right by him...so it's basically Regis, Kelly and Sam :) It was Nov. 30, so if you watched it...you might remember him!

Our first broadway show we went to was Shrek...we had 2nd row seats and i got them FREE! A guy outside the show just gave them to me because 2 of his friends didn't show! That was just the beginning of my great luck! I also saw "In The Heights" on the first row for $26 because I won the lottery :) 2 shows for $26...now that's Spencer style cheap! After we went and enjoyed some nice New York Cheese Cake!

So the rest of our vacation memories are not on our camera because our fully charged battery died by the end of day two because we took so many pictures. We had so much fun. Thank you Ryan and Katrina for the best VIP New York treatment you can get! Literally we saw EVERYTHING new york has to offer...we walked farther than the pilgrims, but we did not waste one spare minute! What a blast. Can't wait to do another trip with out kids in...what...another 6 years? :) We'll see.

Pete and Repeat

You really could say these two are "one of a kind" because they do everything together. If one want's a drink, so does the other...if one goes to the bathroom...so does the other. If one is hitting, so is the other :)

Best Dad Ever

So it must be said...Sam is the best Dad ever!!! The boys really only experience TRUE happiness with dad. Sam, you're the best!

the unoccasional rainy day

We had a nice couple of unexpected and unusually rainy days!!! I'd say the cool weather was nice, but it was still in the 90's. During this day Dillon was often found "hiding" in the cubbard, much to Alex's delight as he finally found someone to play "hide-and-seek" with.

Summer Vacation

We had a blast in California this summer! What a great vacation. For me it started out with a nice marathon run in San Francisco. What a cool and unique view of the city I got...not many people get to run over the golden gate bridge when traffic is closed. We spent some time in Santa Rosa and in San Louis Obispo to see Mark and Lora. It was great having the whole Spencer clan together! We left San Antonio at 103 degrees and arrived to a welcoming 67 degrees. We all froze but had a great time.

The beach was beautiful...Ahhh, to kayak again. It was so fun watching Sam surf as well...if only I would have had my camera!!!

Austin Triathlon

Ok, so really a good reason I haven't posted since December is because I have been spending all of my free time training for this stinking triathlon...but it was so worth it. We had a blast. A few of us lady friends (and one hubby :) did the Austin Tri over memorial day and it rocked! I did the olympic (1 mile swim, 26 mile bike, 6 mile run) and did a Personal Best (ok, it's my only best since it was my first) The swim in the lake was a little crazy but no deaths occured and we finished. Now I look forward to doing the San Francisco Marathon in July! Sam too has caught the race bug and did a 1/2 marathon on his birthday (may 23) and also had a Personal Best (again, it's still a P B if it's your first). The kids are such troopers as they spend everyday...sometimes multiple hours in the gym while mommy teaches classes and daddy runs.

Boys at Play

So it has been far too long since I've updated the ol' blog...Let's give no excuses but to say we've been staying very busy here in San Antonio. Dillon and Alex are growing up way too fast and I am loving being their mom. Dillon turned 1 on May 14th and Alex is having more fun with him as slowly, every day, Dillon gets stronger during wrestling matches. Don't get me wrong, I hear Dillon's Indian war screams quiet frequently still, but Alex is finding great satisfaction in the fact that they don't come as readily as they use to.

Girly boyz

So Alex and Dillon have RSV (I know, sad...) which ultimately means I have not had the luxury of getting out much. Day 6 of being quarantined in our abode left me no alternative but to pull out all the strings of creativity in order to find some means of entertainment. This is what we came up with today. I must say, they sure are pretty :) and yes, I will have some nice leverage when they get older.
